Description
Tesamorelin (TESA) — stabilized GHRH-analog research peptide
Tesamorelin is a stabilized analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-44), carrying a trans-3-hexenoyl modification that slows degradation of the native peptide. It is studied as an agonist at pituitary GHRH receptors and has the deepest human clinical literature of any compound in the GHRH-analog class. For the full research background, see our Tesamorelin Canada research guide.
Research areas (in-vitro and preclinical models):
- GHRH-receptor signalling — stabilized-analog studies of pituitary-pathway pharmacology
- GH-axis regulation — pulsatile-release and IGF-1-axis readouts in laboratory models
- Analog-comparison research — studied against sermorelin and CJC-1295 within the GHRH class, and against ghrelin-receptor secretagogues such as ipamorelin — see the comparison guide
- Authorized-drug literature — an FDA-approved tesamorelin product (EGRIFTA) exists in the US for a narrow indication; that evidence applies to the authorized drug under its conditions of use, not to this research material, and no equivalence is implied
Supplied as a 20mg lyophilized vial, batch-coded and tested to 99%+ purity by independent third-party HPLC and mass spectrometry, with a downloadable batch COA. Pre-mixed pens sold elsewhere are different preparations.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human consumption. Not evaluated for approval by Health Canada.

Frequently asked questions
What is tesamorelin?
A stabilized analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-44), studied at pituitary GHRH receptors in laboratory models. Supplied here as a 20mg lyophilized research vial.
Is tesamorelin FDA approved for human use?
Yes — as a prescription drug (EGRIFTA) for one narrow indication under medical supervision in the US, which is exactly why that drug product must not be conflated with this research material. No equivalence is implied.
Is tesamorelin legal in Canada?
Tesamorelin may be sold in Canada as a research chemical for laboratory use only. As of September 2026, Health Canada’s Drug Product Database lists the two former EGRIFTA (tesamorelin) DINs as cancelled, and no tesamorelin drug product is currently marketed in Canada. Read more about peptide legality in Canada.
Who takes tesamorelin?
Nobody “takes” this product — it is sold for laboratory research only and is not for human administration. Questions about the authorized drug and its patient population belong with a physician, not a research-chemical supplier.
What is the tesamorelin dosage?
We don’t provide protocols: this material is sold for laboratory research only, and published exposure data is specific to the authorized drug product, not research vials.
How is tesamorelin different from ipamorelin and other GH-axis peptides?
Tesamorelin is a GHRH-receptor agonist; ipamorelin is a selective ghrelin-receptor (GHS-R1a) secretagogue — different receptors, not interchangeable in research designs. Our comparison guide covers the full class.
Does this tesamorelin come with a COA?
Yes — every batch is tested by independent third-party HPLC and mass spectrometry; the batch-specific COA is downloadable and verifiable at Peptide Test Canada.
