Melanotan II (also written MT-2 or MT2 in the research literature) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analogue of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It acts as a non-selective agonist at melanocortin receptors and is used in laboratory research on pigmentation pathways and receptor pharmacology.
